About Mohun Bagan Super Giant
Founded on 15 August 1889, Mohun Bagan Super Giant is one of the oldest football clubs in Asia and among the most decorated institutions in Indian football. Based in Kolkata, the club occupies a legendary place in the country's sporting history, most notably for becoming the first Indian club to win the IFA Shield in 1911, defeating the East Yorkshire Regiment—a landmark victory that became a symbol of India's growing national pride during the freedom movement. Over the past 135 years, Mohun Bagan has consistently been at the forefront of Indian football, producing generations of iconic players and building one of the largest and most passionate fan bases in Asia.
