Mohammedan SC emerged as the first civilian team to clinch the trophy

Tournament opened to civilian teams and shifted to Delhi

1950

Tournament became an initiative by the Indian Armed Forces under the Durand Football Tournament Society

1956

Dr. Rajendra Prasad introduced the President’s Cup to be given to the winner every year

2014

Tournament shifted to Goa

2016

Tournament shifted back to Delhi

2019

Tournament shifted to West Bengal and conducted by Eastern Command, ISL clubs play for first time-uniting the Indian footballing pyramid

2021

Recognition in AIFF Annual Calendar- official season opener

Tournament expanded to two more states of Assam & Manipur
