About Shillong Lajong FC
Shillong Lajong Football Club (founded as Lajong SC) is an Indian professional football club based in Shillong, Meghalaya. The club is currently competing in the Indian Football League. Shillong Lajong also take part in the Shillong Premier League. Shillong Lajong was incorporated in 1983, with the prime objective of improving the declining standard of football in the state and to spot, train and nurture local talent. In the local Khasi language, Lajong translates to "our own". They are Nicknamed as the “Reds”. They also have a fan base which is among one of the die-hard supporters and among the best fans in Indian Football which are known as “Shillong Lajong Faithfuls.”
