Bodoland Football Club is an Indian professional football club located in Bodoland, Assam. Established in 2022, it became the first professional club from Bodoland to participate in the prestigious Durand Cup. The club’s primary aim is to promote and develop football in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
In its debut year, Bodoland FC achieved success by competing in and winning the 1st Inter Sixth Schedule Council Premier Football League tournament in 2022, representing BTR. The team also participated in the Baji Rout Cup in Odisha and is set to compete in the upcoming 2023 Durand Cup.
The Durand Cup is the oldest football tournament in Asia and the third oldest football tournament in the world. In 1888, the tournament started off as an Army Cup open only to the British Indian Army troops in India but soon it opened up to civilian teams.
