Delhi FC

Delhi Football Club is a prominent Indian professional football club based in Delhi. Established in 1994, the club actively competes in both the I-League and the Delhi Premier League. Notably, they secured promotion to the 2023–24 I-League after triumphing in the 2022–23 I-League 2 season.

In the early years, Delhi FC competed in lower local divisions, eventually ascending to the FD Senior Division in 2009. As an affiliate of Football Delhi, the club consistently participates in the top tier of the Delhi Football League system, namely the Delhi Premier League.

In a significant development, Ranjit Bajaj, the owner of Minerva Academy, acquired a 90% stake in Delhi FC in August 2020 after selling Punjab FC to RoundGlass. Under Bajaj’s guidance, the club displayed commendable progress and reached the quarter-finals of the prestigious Durand Cup, defeating ISL side Kerala Blasters in a thrilling final group match.

The remarkable achievement came in May 2023 when Delhi FC clinched their first-ever I-League 2 title, securing promotion to the I-League for the first time based on sporting merit. This historic feat makes them the first team from Delhi to earn promotion to this prestigious league.

To lead the club on its debut season in the I-League, Delhi FC appointed Yan Law as the head coach. With an exciting future ahead, Delhi Football Club continues to raise the bar in Indian football and represent the city of Delhi with pride and determination.
