Bangladesh Army Football Team is a prominent association football team based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Competing in the National Football Championship, the country’s premier national district tournament, they showcase their skills alongside other top teams.

The team boasts a blend of talented players who participate in various leagues like the Bangladesh Premier League, Championship League, Dhaka League, and lower tiers of Dhaka football, all while proudly representing the Bangladesh Army.

Established on 26 March 1971, coinciding with Bangladesh’s Independence Day, Bangladesh Army has been home to numerous professional footballers. Notably, Hafizuddin Ahmed, one of the team’s first commissioned officers, made history as the first East Pakistani footballer to captain Pakistan.

Among their early appearances, the Army team joined the Aga Khan Gold Cup in the 1977/78 edition, facing tough competition against Thai club Bangkok Bank (2–8) and Malaysia’s Penang (1–4).

Their impressive journey includes regular participation in the Sher-e-Bangla Cup, with notable achievements such as being joint winners alongside Dhaka University in 1980 and 1981. Additionally, in 1990, they emerged victorious, claiming sole ownership of the title by defeating their rivals in the final.
